Data Validation Checks - Explained

Canopy
Last Updated: 1 year ago

Canopy does a number of data validation checks to ensure that information uploaded are accurate and complete.

During data normalization, you may encounter errors preventing you from progressing. You must review and fix these errors before moving on to the next step.

These checks include (and are not limited to):

- Are all mandatory fields filled in?

- Is the transaction being booked in the correct CCY account?

- Is there a price saved on or before the Trade Date?

- Is the Direction Amount of your transaction correct?

- Does the ticker exist in Canopy's database?

There are two types of errors:

- Critical Errors: these errors must be addressed so that the transaction can be uploaded

- Non-Critical Errors: these errors may be ignored if you verify the information supplied is ok
