How to Setup Plaid (Step by Step)

Process for Setting up Plaid

Step 1

An existing Canopy user can log in using Canopy Credentials at https://plaid.canopy.cloud

Step 2

Once logged in, user will be able to see the Dashboard. The dashboard will indicate the accounts currently connected with Plaid and Canopy.

To add a new account, click on “Add new accounts through Plaid” to continue.

Step 3

Users will need to click "Continue" to agree to Plaid End User Privacy Policy to acknowledge the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.

Step 4

Users will be redirected to a page to select their Bank.

Please key in your credentials

Once submitted, please click "Continue" to link your account to Canopy.

Step 5

Upon clicking on Continue, Users will be redirected back to the dashboard to see the list of accounts they have added.

To add more accounts, click on “Add new accounts through Plaid”.

Customized settings for Financial Institution

To enable to smooth automated process, please follow the steps below if it is relevant to the financial institution selected.

E*trade

Some Etrade accounts require OTP for every login (and in Plaid's case, data refresh) by default.

User should turn off this setting in their E
trade account to enable a smooth automated process.
