Background

This is a step-by-step guide on how to load data into Canopy using Canopy UL 1.0 files.

Steps to follows

Step 1: Create a new child account

Step 2: Choose any custodian (e.g. IBKR for Interactive Brokers)

Step 3: Create Currency Accounts

You need at least these 3 currencies

Create Ccy Accounts in EUR, JPY and USD (because the sample data has all 3 currencies). You can create more currency accounts in other currencies if you want

Step 4: Create Canopy UL 1.0 file for upload

• Download the pre-filled Canopy UL 1.0 Create Transaction file from here

• Enter the name of the child account in the spreadsheet and save it

• Remember to close the Excel file after saving it

Step 5: Upload Spreadsheet into Engine

• Upload spreadsheet into Engine under menu Data Upload -> Canopy UL File Upload

Step 6: Continue processing

Step 7: Clear the first check

Step 8: Approve the Non Critical Issues for now

Step 9: Click Upload

Step 10: Wait for confirmation

Step 11: Run the NAV Calculations

Select Full Period Processing

Step 12: Wait for calculations to finish

Step 13: Login to Visualizer and select this Child account

Click View Selection

Step 14: View the results
